Osian Griffiths MCSP

Physport Performance was founded by Osian Griffiths, a Chartered Physiotherapist specialising in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. He currently works in Professional Rugby Union as a Senior Physiotherapist with Ospreys Rugby. He qualified in 2018 from the University of the West of England, Bristol, and quickly specialised in his current field. Prior to his appointment with Ospreys Rugby, Osian specialised as a Senior Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist within the Swansea Bay University Health Board. During these 4 years, he gained valuable experience to develop a broad understanding of conditions, particularly Musculoskletelal conditions, which have been important foundations to the provision of holistic patient-centred assessment and treatment.
Osian has been involved with sports from a young age and competed at an international level in athletics, but unfortunately, a significant knee injury put an end to this. This injury, however, was the steppingstone to pursuing Physiotherapy as a profession. His knee injury and the postoperative rehabilitation subsequently led him to develop a great understanding and love for the knee joint and its associated rehabilitation. Knee injuries and rehabilitation are a particular area of interest to him, which encompassed a lot of his NHS caseload.
Osian is a member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Sport and Exercise Medicine (ACPSEM) and continues to work towards his professional development. Osian recently graduated from the University of South Wales having completed a postgraduate diploma PGDip and Masters degree in Sports and Exercise Medicine to further develop his knowledge in the management of Musculoskeletal sports injuries. Osian has been involved with the Fijian International Rugby Union Team as a team Physiotherapist on two occasions during the November 2021 Northern Hemisphere Autumn International Tour, and more recently during the 2024 Summer Series campaign. His current role working for Ospreys Rugby allows him to work within an elite sporting environment, which requires him to assess and treat acute and chronic injuries for professional athletes, and their subsequent management and on-going rehabilitation. Prior to this, he spent 5 seasons working with two Welsh Premiership Rugby sides, Neath RFC, and is still currently team Physiotherapist affiliated with Aberavon RFC.
